How To Find Wholesale Products
Through The Bankruptcy Courts
By: Robert C. Potter
If you have a large budget and the time to do research, then you might be able to find a great source of below wholesale products searching through company bankruptcy listings. There are several types of bankruptcy, but Chapter 7 is where you will find liquidated products for sale from companies that are in the process of being taken over from the courts. For further explanation of Chapter Seven, see the Liquidation secton Under The Bankruptcy Code Bankruptcy Basics link listed below..
Bankruptcy Basics Of Chapter 7
When a Chapter 7 petition is submitted to the court, a judge will then appoint a trustee (usually a law firm) to handle the case and liquidate the debtor’s assets. You then have to find out who the court trustee is handling the liquidation of assets. The websites listed below will tell what companies are going under, what state it is in, and who is in charge of selling off the assets. The Pacer Program is just the website that will provide that information..
The PACER Service Center is the Federal Judiciary's centralized registration, billing and technical support center for electronic access to U.S. District Bankruptcy and Appellate court records. Other sources of Bankruptcy information include….

Not every bankruptcy listing will contain the type of products that you want, or need. Also, this type of product sourcing does take money, because, in most cases, you will have to buy all of the company's assets outright. In addition, I am not sure of all the legal fees associated with taking over the liquidated assets of a company in bankruptcy.
This is just another avenue by which you can find products for resale. You might just be able to find an “asset of interest” that will fit your needs. Make sure that you understand all of your legal obligations before you make plans to purchase any company assets, real estate, or commercial property.
Even though a bankrupt company is in the hands of the court, make sure that you are not responsible for any liens or debts that might have been leftover by the previous business or real estate owner.
